What is the daily schedule at Our Lady of Peace School?

Prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance are said all together in the gym at 8:20. Then students proceed to their homerooms. Classes start promptly at 8:30.

What school districts provide busing to Our Lady of Peace School?

Busing is available for students in the Abington, Dunmore, Lackawanna Trail, Lakeland, Mid Valley, Mountain View, Old Forge, Riverside, Scranton, Tunkhannock and Valley View School Districts.

Where are school uniforms purchased?

School uniforms are available for purchase at Flynn and O'Hara. Gym uniforms for grades Kindergarten through 2nd may also be purchased at Flynn and O'Hara. Gym uniforms for grades 3 through 8 are available for purchase at the school.

Does Our Lady of Peace School have an Athletic Program?

Our Lady of Peace has many sports teams. We offer boys' and girls' basketball from grades 4 through 8, boys' and girls' cross country from grades 5 through 8, boys' baseball from grades 7 through 8, and girls' cheerleading from grades 6 through 8.

Is tuition assistance available?

Tuition assistance is available through the Diocese of Scranton's Scholarship Foundation funded through the EITC Tax Credit Program. The Smart Money Gift Certificate Program is also an excellent opportunity for tuition reduction throughout the year. Orders may be sent into school on Wednesday, are filled, and returned home with students the same day.

Are there tuition payment plans available?

Tuition is paid to the FACTS Tuition Management Company.

Is there an online parent/school communication source available?

Our Lady of Peace School offers OLPClarksSummit.com and RenWeb. This is a means for parents to access school information such as a monthly calendar of events, monthly newsletters, class assignments and students' grades.

Do you prepare the students for the reception of their sacraments?

It is, and always has been, the expectation of pastors as well as Our Lady of Peace School that children receive their sacraments within their own parish communities. First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are celebrated in the second grade and catechesis is done throughout the school year. Confirmation is celebrated according to diocesan schedules and parish custom. All students receive catechesis for the sacrament in Grade 8.
